Changal.com was the fastest-growing online food ordering platform in Iran — and one of the most transformative opportunities of my career. I joined in its early days, when we were handling just 10 orders a day. By the time I left, that number had grown to over 2,500 daily orders in a highly competitive market.

AdFinder was a programmatic direct ad buying platform, created to solve the inefficiencies I had witnessed firsthand in traditional PPC campaigns. While working at Anetwork, I noticed that despite driving clicks, we weren't delivering meaningful ROI — largely due to the lack of a mature Adtech ecosystem: no SSPs, DSPs, data providers, or targeting infrastructure.

That realization sparked my interest in building something better. After meeting my future co-founder at a networking event, I joined him to launch AdFinder — a private marketplace (PMP)-style solution that gave large brands and publishers more control, better reach, and improved campaign visibility with minimal data dependency.

While the tech was strong, the real challenge was adoption. Many large publishers preferred working with established players and outdated workflows — even relying on email to exchange ad creatives. Despite initial excitement around innovation, we learned firsthand the importance of market relationships and trust in Adtech adoption.

Key learnings & contributions:

Launched in 2010 as a CPC ad network, Anetwork quickly became the largest digital marketing dashboard in Iran. I joined in the early growth phase as the Marketing Manager, when the team was just five people. Shortly after, we secured our first VC round, enabling us to scale to a 50-person team.

In 2013, as inbound marketing began gaining global traction (thanks to HubSpot), we embraced the trend early. We launched a blog, published multiple eBooks, and implemented marketing automation — creating a solid lead-gen engine that helped convert interest into real business results.
